What's New

We had a very good show season. In March we were off to the Camrose show where we showed
Mistyglen's Creena, Phelon CuKirk and Mona May. We were very pleased when Creena took Best of
Breed on Sunday and went on to take a Group 4th. It was also a great weekend for Phelon and Mona
May. Phelon took Winners Male all three days and Best of Opposite Sex twice for a total of 7 points
in one weekend. Mona took Best of Breed on Saturday and Winners Female twice - also for a 7 point
weekend

Mistyglen's Creena- Fourth in Group
Mona May - Best of breed & Phelon CuKirk- Best of Opposite Sex
In April we took Mistyglen's Creena to the Edmonton Kennel Club Show which included an Irish
Wolfhound Booster on Friday, judged by Jocelyne Gagne so had a big showing of 14 hounds.
We had originally entered 5 dogs, however due to a case of kennel cough we only brought the
dog who was not living at home. Mistyglen's Creena took Winners Female on Saturday and
picked up 4 points to complete her Championship.
May found

Championship
August found us on the road again. We were off to Calgary for the big AKC show and the
associated Specialties. Shortly after departing home we found ourselves broken down on the
side of the road. Well that was the end of that and the show would have to be forfeited, or so
we thought. Thanks to good friends like Ann Brockett of Windseekers kennels. Ann contacted
Brad and Dot Magnus who even thought they had never met us before graciously offered to put
us all up at their set-up.
So we were set into action. We would have to swing into high gear if we were going to make
it! We moved everything into our van and set out again. We arrived just hours before the first
show was due to commence. At this point I was wondering if it was all worth it. The results
speak for themselves:

Ch. Loneoak Becca at Mistyglen took 4 "Best of Breed" placements including the
Alberta Sporting Hound Association and Foothills Gazehound Club Specialties.
"Becca" also placed "Third in Group" on Saturday.
Show number 5 brought Ch. Mona May her
"Best of Breed".
Phelon CuKirk took "Best of Opposite" Sex for all 5 shows
and finished his Championship.
I was very proud of Windseeker Amy at Prairietrail. She took Winners Female 3 times and Best of
Winners twice for a total of 6 points over the weekend.
October found us at the Lloydminster dog show where Ch. Loneoak Becca at Mistyglen
picked up a Fourth in Group.

We are now sitting out the long winter months, shoveling mountains of snow waiting for the thaw.
Waiting for the time to hit the roads again.
Our show season ended quietly with the fall show in Camrose. This was our last show of the season.
We made it into the Group ring but didn't take home any big ribbons.
